Artist’s Note

Through the images I create,

the viewer’s emotions and feelings createanother imagination

which leads to communication between them and me.

I make images with bodies and invest them withstories.

“Motion” can be anunspoken language, similar to an abstract painting.

Of course, motioninvolves exact expressions,

but sometimes, an unclearmotion may constitute an unconstrained language.

People’s emotions differ from day to day.

Day and night, moods change when people meet oneanother in their daily routines.

Depending on moods and situations, artwork isreinterpreted within the context of differing stories.

This is why I do not specifically title my works:

Unconstrained language absent limitations allowsempty spaces to lead to other imaginations and true freedom of expression!

I want to hear and learn people’sstories. I wonder how my images are changed in other people’s eyes and howdifferent stories are thereby born.

With those stories, my works arechanged and constantly renewed- and from this, stories with which diversepeople may sympathize are created.

내가 만들어낸 이미지를 통해 개개인의 감성과감정은

각기 다른 상상을 펼쳐내고 그로써 나는관객과 소통한다.

나는 몸으로 이미지를 만들어 내고 이야기를담는다.

몸짓 이란,

말이 없어도 그 자체로 언어가 되기도 하고

이미지란,

설명 없이도 그 자체로 감동이나 감정을 만들어낸다.

내 작품 안에서는 무용과 이미지, 이 모든 것이 이야기를 만들어내게 된다.

개개인의 사람은 매일 다른 감정이 생긴다.

밤낮 일상 속 혹은 다른 사람들과의 만남에서그들의 감정 기복은 매번 바뀐다.

그런 그들의 상황에 따라 작품은 각기 다른이야기들로 또 한번 재해석된다.

나는 그런 이야기들을 듣고 싶고 알고 싶다.

나의 이미지가 어떻게 보여지는지

그리고 그 안에서 다른 이야기들이 어떻게탄생되는지…

그 이야기들로 나의 작품은 끊임없이 변화하고새로워질 것이며,

그리하여 많은 사람들이 공감하는 이야기가만들어 질것이다.
